Transforming Thai Industry: SiS Distribution (Thailand) Announces Strategic Partnership with Markforged to Lead in Advanced Manufacturing

Bangkok, Thailand – SiS Distribution (Thailand) Public Company Limited, one of Thailand’s leading IT product distributors, has announced a strategic partnership with the U.S.-based Markforged, a global leader in industrial 3D printing technology. This collaboration marks SiS’s entry into the advanced manufacturing sector, aiming to distribute Markforged’s cutting-edge 3D printing equipment and materials throughout Thailand.

Mr. Somchai Sittichaisrichart, Managing Director of SiS, emphasized that this move aligns with the company’s vision to pioneer the adoption of emerging technologies that enhance efficiency and productivity in Thailand’s business landscape.

“We’ve been closely observing the transformative impact of 3D printing on global manufacturing,” said Mr. Somchai. “We can see immense benefits for Thai manufacturers in being able to design prototypes, print and test them in-house, then set up their own production runs. There are substantial savings in production time and costs and, importantly, the process enables companies to by-pass the supply chain issues that currently plague manufacturers globally. Even intricate components can be printed literally overnight, in fit-for-purpose materials, and meeting the most demanding specifications.”

Mr. Somchai said the market for additive manufacturing in Thailand would exceed USD 400 million in 2025, and was forecast to more than double by 2030.

“The automotive industry in Thailand is the largest in Southeast Asia and the tenth largest in the world, with an annual output of more than two million vehicles. Leading manufacturers like Toyota and BMW are embracing additive manufacturing worldwide, including here in Thailand,” said Mr. Somchai.

“The electronics industry is another key target for us, with its demand for increasingly-complex designs that are difficult and expensive to produce using conventional manufacturing methods.

“These and many other industries are recognising the substantial benefits that this technology offers, and this is creating a very substantial growth market,” he added. “We regard our move into the distribution of additive manufacturing equipment and materials as an important new strategic direction for our company, and one in which we are determined to take a leadership role. We chose Markforged as our partner in this regard because our research showed it to be a true world leader, successful and innovative and, importantly, able to provide the depth of technical support we need as we introduce this exciting new technology to our clients,” he said.

SiS has already taken delivery of a range of leading-edge Markforged metal and composite 3D printers including the FX20, FX10 with Sinter-2, X7, and Mark Two systems, bundled with a three-year Digital Forge Complete package.

Markforged’s technology, known for its use of metal, composite, and continuous carbon fiber materials, aligns with SiS’s commitment to delivering innovative solutions to the Thai market.

Mr. Suraj Sethi, Sales Director for South APAC at Markforged, who facilitated the agreement with SiS Distribution (Thailand) Public Company Limited, expressed enthusiasm about the partnership. “Thailand’s robust manufacturing sector is primed for growth, and there’s a clear readiness to embrace new technologies to unlock its full potential. Partnering with a respected and established company like SiS Distribution (Thailand) allows us to effectively introduce our advanced 3D printing solutions to the Thai market,” said Mr. Sethi.

This partnership reflects a broader trend of Markforged expanding its presence in the  Asia-Pacific region. These alliances aim to revolutionize manufacturing by providing businesses with tools to accelerate product development, reduce time-to-market, and foster innovation. SiS’s strategic move into the manufacturing equipment sector underscores its dedication to driving technological advancement and supporting Thailand’s industrial growth.
